I’ve been making beats for over two years now. I started out on a tiny Akai MPK mini and recently upgraded to a Novation FLkey. Everything creative happens inside FL Studio—that’s where I cook up all my loops and core melodies. But when it comes to the final mix and master, I prefer to move the stems over to Cubase because I feel its engine just handles audio summing and mixing much better.
Aside from beats, I actually composed and produced the entire soundtrack for my short film completely from scratch. Right now, I’m still messing around with different styles, trying out EDM and house remixes to see where it takes me, but making beats is what I always come back to.
